I’ve been thinking a lot about our government lately and not unlike most people, I’ve had about enough of them.
Frankly, our current form of government had its shot at trying to better our country, but all it’s done is managed to tarnish the image of a land that was once the most admired and respected country on earth. I might be an
American, but I can’t honestly say that I’m not proud of where America is
going.
I guess what bothers me most is how politicians, who are mainly comprised of wealthy business men and women, haven’t the slightest idea what it’s like to live as an average, ordinary citizen. You certainly wouldn’t go and ask a pastry chef to change the spark plugs in your car, so why do we allow people who have little to no grasp on reality to have control over our
existence here in America? Something just doesn’t seem right with that.
In my opinion, every member of the US government should be given their walking papers – joining the 13 million other out of work Americans they
so often overlook. In their place we should nominate every day, hardworking Americans who know the true value of a dollar and the realities of struggling just to get by. Then and only then will our country return to greatness – led by the people who ARE America – its citizens.
Politicians can say anything they want, but the only thing they’re interested in is making a name for themselves and scoring some money in their
pockets any way they can – even if it’s illegal. America does have the
potential to be a country of promise, innovation and integrity, but not if it’s
run with politics as usual.
You’ve had your chance Washington and you’ve proven time and time
again that winning is more important than solving the problems that face the average American and their families. It’s time government stepped aside and let the people finally have control of their destiny – of their lives. Your 15 minutes of fame is over.
Feeling good about government is like looking on the bright
side of any catastrophe. When you quit looking on the bright side, the
catastrophe is still there.
