Pride has been defined as “a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority” – and whether we like to admit it or not, we all harbor this unflattering quality in varying degrees over our lifetime. It seems to creep up on us in our families, at our jobs and even amongst friends, especially when we’re faced with the reality that we’re not the perfect person we thought ourselves to be.
