Quitting something you enjoy only winds up hurting yourself

“Quitting is the easiest thing to do.”Robert Kiyosaki

There are times in life when we feel as though we’ve had enough – when the struggles are just too great and quitting seems like a viable solution.

Regardless of the circumstance, some days you find yourself wondering if it’s worth it? It’s a difficult question to ask, with an answer you may not be willing to hear.

I’ve been asking myself that question a lot lately, especially when it comes to this blog, and I believe it might just be quitting time for The View from Here.

I’ve written over 650 posts so far, and have received some amazing feedback, quite literally from people all over the world.

But at the end of the day, what have I really accomplished? What doors has this blog opened for me? What professional recognition have I received?

Then I came across this website – quotecatalog.com. It’s a site dedicated to becoming the premier quote search engine on the internet. I’ve used it many times before for my writings, and have always been pleased with the quality of their content.

What I didn’t know was that I was part of that content.

In Googling my name, I came across this quote:

“While saying goodbye does mean accepting that a part of our life is now over, it also provides us with a chance to realize just how blessed our lives have been. To look back and reflect on the journeys we’ve shared with some wonderful people, while being exposed to amazing and invaluable experiences we often take for granted.” – Craig James Ruvere

The quote was taken from a post I wrote for TinyBuddha several years ago.

This discovery reminded me that “Failing is not the worst thing in the world; quitting is.”Edwin Louis Cole

Just when we think we’re at the end of something, something new happens or something old becomes new again. But we’ll never know if anything happens at all if we simply throw in the towel and stop trying – stop pursuing and persevering.

In short, never quit doing something you enjoy. Maybe it won’t bring you fame or fortune, but your personal satisfaction and positive fulfillment is invaluable.

I guess this blog still has a little more life in it.
