When opportunities fall through your fingers like particles of sand, you’re often left deflated and demoralized. You question whether or not you’ll find the courage to believe in yourself and continue moving forward.
But then something truly wonderful happens.
One kind word completely derails your deflated and demoralized feelings and suddenly you realize that everything happens for a reason. That today you’re you and frankly that’s enough.
I recently found myself experiencing the feelings above as an opportunity I was convinced would come to fruition suddenly fell apart.
My first reaction was to question my talents and abilities – putting the blame solely on myself as to why the said opportunity didn’t end with a different outcome. Yes, I was angry, sad, frustrated, you name it!
But all that changed with a simple trip to the mailbox. For there I found a card from an unlikely source.
A vendor I have come to admire and respect for their incredible creativity, impeccable attention to detail and unwavering patience and support.
Suspecting some of the struggles I was experiencing, they sent me this wonderful greeting card filled with heartfelt messages from the team. Positive, encouraging, hopeful messages I needed to hear at that very moment.
Isn’t it amazing what one kind word can do to change your entire outlook?
Isn’t it amazing there are people out there who lead with a compassionate heart and understand that even in business nourishing another person is invaluable for everyone.
Sadly, such individuals aren’t the norm in society and business today. But I consider myself incredibly blessed to have come across more than my share.
