Don’t convince someone WHO you are – let them experience it

I used to believe that being an “overzealous” person could never be a bad thing when you’re trying to prove your worthiness at a job or in a relationship.

And while a certain amount of enthusiasm does go a long way to showing your motivation and devotion, it can also be misconstrued as ego.

Simply put, sometimes people need to find things out for themselves, rather than you trying to prove yourself in every imaginable capacity – all in an attempt to show them the person you are rather than letting them experience for themselves.

New situations are never easy to adjust to, and many times we often put far too much effort into trying to talk ourselves up instead of just being ourselves.

Winnie the Pooh once said that “You are Braver than you Believe, Smarter than you Seem, and Stronger than you Think.”

Have patience and believe in the person you are. People will undoubtedly find out who that is without you trying to convince them.
