Do it now – Something better may just be on the horizon

“One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” Paulo Coelho

I realize how impossible this might be to actually apply – to do it now – based on the daily realities and burdens we all have to live with.

But many times I myself wonder, are some things REALLY that impossible, or am I just making excuses – afraid of taking risks, exiting my comfort zone or committing to the unknown?

While we all understand that life is fragile and can be taken away from us at any moment, how many of us are trying to live each day to the fullest? How many of us are putting off our hopes and dreams until a very uncertain tomorrow?

But tomorrow often turns into weeks and months and before long years have elapsed and you find yourself still saying, “maybe tomorrow”.

No matter how stable the economy might be; no matter how much money you’ve saved in the bank; no matter where you might be emotionally in your heart and mind – there will always be a risk associated with making a change. There are no certainties in life.

But sitting back and doing nothing for fear of making the wrong choices is not really living at all.

I told my wife the other day that I no longer want to be responsible for any of the big decisions in our life. She laughed when I told her that.

Oftentimes I feel as though no matter how well thought out my decisions might be, they don’t always turn out as I’ve hoped.

But does that mean they were mistakes? No, it just means that something better is on the horizon.

While making a change in your life often disrupts your everyday, ordinary existence, maybe the disruption is just what your life needs to propel you to the next level.

“We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.”Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free
